Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19YO 700ml
For the first time in 20 years, Ardbeg Distillery is releasing an aged whisky that will be permanently available.
Ardbeg Traigh Bhan (pronounced Tri Van) is a rare 19 Year Old single malt scotch whisky and is inspired by the heavenly vista of Traigh Bhan on Islay, known locally as The Singing Sands. But, beguiling as this beach is, it is can also be treacherous. The Sands are seductive yet volatile, and this whisky is no different.
At 19 Years Old, an unusual age statement for the category, but Ardbeg isn’t a distillery that follows the norm. Ardbeg Traigh Bhan will become part of the Ardbeg Core Range, and will be made available in annual small batches, each distinguished by a unique bottle code.
This sublime dram is the epitome of an aged Ardbeg. On this nose, smoky pineapple and aromatic wood smoke notes mingle with strong undercurrents of sea spray. On the palate, there’s an exquisite taste crescendo of sweet and sour with smoked chilli chocolate and paprika, before more intense notes peter out through a long, smoky finish.
